Is Your Makeup Costing More Than Money?

Hello everyone! This is my first post, and I'm excited to share my experiences with cruelty free makeup, as well as help others in their journey to completely switching over. A lot of times when I ask someone why they purchase from companies that test, I hear the same thing over and over. "I didn't know.". Animal cruelty in cosmetics hasn't been talked about a lot, but now that it is starting to be acknowledged more, there really is no excuse. In this post, I'm going to explain a couple different ways to find out if your makeup is really cruelty free.

Hint #1

Luckily, there are many ways to find out if a company tests on animals. Sites like Leaping Bunny, PETA, Logical Harmony, and CrueltyFreeKitty for example, keep updated lists on who tests and who doesn't. I would check them all for the company you're looking for , because info can vary. The more you look at, the more accurate your results will be! The one downside to this is that many small cruelty free companies aren't listed due to lack of funds. To have your company branded as cruelty free, you have to pay these sites. Only then will they investigate, and certify you. So small businesses like mine aren't always on them right away.

Hint #2

Go check out their website. If they have a Chinese option, or say that they sell in China, they are NOT cruelty free. If you don't see it anywhere, send them an email. Companies that are being truthful will be happy to answer your questions. If they are hesitant, or beat around the bush, they probably are not being honest in their practices. China has very strict regulations. Any cosmetics that are sold there are, by law, required to do animal testing.

Hint #3

The best way to make sure your products aren't tested on animals, is to shop vegan. A Leaping Bunny symbol means that no animal products are used, and that no animal testing occurs during any point of production.

So there you have it! Hopefully, you have a better idea of what is cruelty free and what is not. Using these tips, you should be able to identify companies that test and companies that don't. I am always available to help anyone who is struggling with the transition to cruelty free. Send me an email at VerbazenBeautyservices@gmail.com. And don't forget that none of my products are tested on animals.. ever!
